VICTORIA STEFFINS

Singer - Actress - Director

How many 2-year-olds do you know that figured out how to use a remote just to watch "Lonely Goatherd" from The Sound of Music over and over... and over again?

Hi, I'm Victoria, and I was that kid.

I am a Louisiana-born woman who grew up in a home and family filled with the love of music. From get togethers that ended in hours long singing sessions to my obvious obsession with musicals, I started my vocal awareness at a young age. Although I worked on the skill of singing, it wasn't until sophomore year in high school that I auditioned for theatre. My first show was Pride & Prejudice, a story that I grew up on with my three younger sisters, and I was hooked.

A lot of time has passed since then, and I am living in San Diego, CA, as a dance instructor at the Fred Astaire Dance Studios and a teacher of the arts in various locations. Having settled into a new city after receiving my BFA in Musical Theatre and taking some unplanned time to direct, I'm excited for this next chapter in performing arts.

Most Recent - Hero: The Rock Musical

Soon after moving, I was blessed with the opportunity to perform with Awaken Theatre, including their most recent production, Hero. In this modern telling of the Easter story, I was asked to cultivate my craft further by portraying a type of role that I had never done before - a demon.

I love a good challenge, and this role did not disappoint with its obstacles and demand of physical stamina. If you are curious about how this show looked and would like to explore that curiosity further, here is a short recap video of the 2024 version of Hero: The Rock Musical.

California Debut - Twisted: The Musical

Prior to Hero, Awaken Theatre performed its winter musical, Twisted, which centered around Ebenezer Scrooge's backstory in the time period, but pulled in the modernism of 80's pop. This production marked my debut performance as a resident of California, and it was a wonderful time working onstage and in film.

Previous Projects

Julia Sullivan in The Wedding Singer in 2023 (top left), Annie Oakley in Annie Get Your Gun in 2022 (top right), Elinor Dashwood in Sense & Sensibility in 2018 (bottom right), and Miranda in The Tempest in 2016 (bottom left)

Between my first show in 2012 and the move to the Golden State, I've had the priviledge of enjoying  several roles from a community stage in Louisiana, a few stages in Texas, and (briefly) a small stage in New York. I have grown to love performing more and more in that time, but also fell in love with something else along the way.

Featured are Victoria's final two directed shows: Rodgers & Hammerstein's Cinderella in 2023 (top) and A Christmas Carol in 2022 (bottom)

A surprise that I wasn't expecting was the blessing to serve as creative director at the youth community theatre that I loved in high school. Within my time there, I directed/assisted in the teams of five full shows, one summer show workshop, and the non-profit's first production of a 24HR Musical. Now, teaching the next generation of artists is a new passion to pair with performing.
